Fall Camp News

The way offenses are set up these days it would be unrealistic to think you're going to really stop most of them. FSU, UNC, Clemson, even Duke are going to score lots of points and roll up tons of yards. About the only team you don't have to outscore is VT, and heaven help anyone if they eventually figure that out.

Three or four stops a game is about all you need, given our offense.

Depends on the QB. Clemson was a different team and NCSt's had a terrible game against us. Whereas, UNC and FSU could do no wrong.

Skov had like 3x more rushing yards in the scrimmage than in his entire career at Stanford...

I don't see how anyone can argue against the option when a player who hardly got touches at another school can come here and not only contribute but put up impressive numbers that may even get him a shot in the nfl. Has anyone seen the videos of skov lifting? He's a big boy.

Can you imagine the recruiting pitch if Skov makes the League?

In all fairness, all of us here on Stingtalk can lift like that.

Where's the depth chart at?? Supposed to come out today.

I guess coach has to have individual player meetings about redshirting.

Dang....Marshall cracking the first string. I know he hasn't played a down yet, but he has the most potential since Dwyer.

Marshall and Skov tied for top spot on depth chart:

I thought Allen looked pretty darn good in the Spring, and it's awesome to see he's not even 1 or 2 on the depth chart. Skov and Marshall must be really impressing to jump up that high. By the end of the year, they could possibly give us an even better combo than Days and Laskey.

On Stewart I heard:

"The way he played today he'd be starting with Mike out."

So sounds like Summers is dinged up and Stewart is our first WR off the bench right now. So two of our latest additions to the 2015 class might end up having huge impacts immediately. Those two could end up being very important pieces to the season given our losses at their positions.

the hype was that he'd be 2nd string?

I guess we only have 6 or 7 WRs total and 3 are true frosh. But he's still getting mentioned in almost every practice/scrimmage report as a guy who is making plays. Looks like he's passed Messick who has 2+ years on the team.

Regardless, we should be very strong at WR moving forward. We've recruited very well the last couple cycles.
