Fall Camp News

Johnson post practice today:

- Cottrell likely out for season
- Mikell Lands-Davis to AB ("wasn't going to be in top 3 at BB")
- Starting DL if they played today: Chungong, Freeman, Gamble, Gotsis
- Starting ABs if they played today: Searcy and Snoddy ("Ike hasn't been practicing.")
- Quaide supposed to be back week 2

Top three at BB must be Allen, Marshall, Skov (alphabetic order, not ranking)
 
Guess all the JHD hype didn't payoff. Wasn't he supposed to be "the best DL" that we played against last year

thanks for the summary, sounds like Trey Braun has a non-serious injury, and Marshall and Klock played instead of Shamire today.

I thought he meant Trey Klock went down. I guess it is ambiguous from the audio

I didn't think it was ambiguous.
edit: AJC says it was Klock, mah bad!

I just watched Chambarlain interview, and he said Klock and Marshall can win the spot, and "even" Shamire...

Shamire is still not in shape and has not shown the heart and desire to seize the moment. It's beginning to look like the light just won't come on. I think they are considering moving Burden to that spot and putting Marshall in at Center. He is our 5th best lineman right now. They like Klock and Bryan but due to inexperience they are fighting an uphill battle. I think Klock was injured today and will miss some time so that more or less takes him out of the race for now. You can take the rest of the guys throw them in a mixer and pull one out and you have pretty much the same guy. Shamire has a great opportunity here but does not seem to be taking advantage of it.

My butt is already getting a little sore after reading this report on Jabari. In fact I think I'll sleep on my stomach tonight.

Not to mention you need a rotation on DL - just because he's not listed as a starter doesn't mean he won't get significant PT. It's not like the old iron man days, amirite Coit?
 
It's encouraging that Chungong is playing well enough to not force us to push Gamble outside. But I've still got to think that our best front 4 consists of Jabari inside and Gamble at SDE.

I suspect they are just making him earn his spot, and also trying to bring out his true potential. He was in the starting rotation during spring ball.
