We need to do more when we do these anniversary things, besides playing a little video and rushing them on and off the field during a commercial. Highlight videos every quarter, announce people by name, maybe get a coach or team leader to talk a little. Hype it up!

He already said what it’s about….

1. Brands.
2. League perception.

If Indiana, BYU, SMU had Alabama, Michigan, tOSU, UGA, etc uniforms on, they would be ranked higher.

Like I said before Clemson lost to UofL, they are the only team in the ACC who gets the “brand” bump, and in turn was the only way the ACC ended up with 2 CFP teams.

Welcome SMU to the world of conference bias.

The reason for it, like most things, comes down to money.

The SEC and BIG-X, generally speaking, have the most eyeballs and the most butts in the seats. Their fans buy the most tickets, merchandise, and products from advertisers.

So everything else being somewhat equal, the people that make the choices will go with the programs with bigger following.

There should be some kind of distillation process that is based more on merit, but at least a 12 team playoff is a step in the right direction... I guess.... maybe.... we'll see....maybe.
