I'm more interested in knowing who we will be playing to open next season.
Kirby Smart says UGA should be in because they beat a lot of bowl-eligible teams![]()
This argument does not fail. The other contenders (OU and OSU) did have playoff games... they had to win their conference championship games. No way in the world either would be in this discussion if they'd lost today. This argument fails. So every other team doesn’t have a playoff game but uga does? Hey, if it works out cause it’s uga, then great, but it’s a bullshit argument. Uga shouldn’t go because the two best teams they played beat them.
For fucks sake read the last sentence of my post before you go rantingThis argument does not fail. The other contenders (OU and OSU) did have playoff games... they had to win their conference championship games. No way in the world either would be in this discussion if they'd lost today.
The broader issue, though, is that the reason we moved from the BCS (trying match up the #1 and the #2 teams) to the CFP was because it was unfair that the #3 never got a chance to prove it could beat those higher teams. But tonight UGA got a chance to beat Alabama, and failed.
What possibly rationale is there for giving them a second chance to beat Alabama, and not giving Oklahoma that chance? The ol' "eye test"? If we're gonna go by the "eye test" then let's just give the CFP slots each year to the team with the highest recruiting rankings. Giving UGA a mulligan against Alabama literally one week after they lost to Alabama is the most retarded anti-American anti-competition anti-little guy BS I've ever heard of. Results on the field must trump EVERYTHING.
This is America. Losers go home, not forward. Basing anything on the "eye test" simply keeps control of the game in the hands of recruiting rankings and talking heads and smoke-filled-rooms, and takes power out of the hands of the players – the antithesis of the purpose of the CFP and the beauty of CFB.

Yeah, I did. It seems to lie in tension with the first part of your post. And the first part of your post is the BS that Herbstreit was spouting. Hence the rant. For öööös sake read the last sentence of my post before you go ranting
The first part relates to ND. The second part relates to UGAy. First, You shouldn’t punish a team that plays an extra game and award a team that sits on their ass. Second, Uga ain’t in cause they got beat by two teams. They aren’t even the first or second best team in their conference.Yeah, I did. It seems to lie in tension with the first part of your post. This is hilarious. Reminds me of:http://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id...fR8GnyEkAvdkPJkMz7r-JO-op1y8wB1dVrwJuu1PZEJiQ
Kirby is pretty much begging at this point. Pretty desperate.
Florida? Damn, you drunkI thought the committee’s stated goal is to seed the 4 best teams. If you think uga is one of the best 4, they should be in. They shouldn’t be punished because they played the number one team in a conference championship while ND sat on their assload of money cause they are too good for conference play.
I personally believe each power 5 conference should pick its representative by whatever means it wants, and the committee should seed the top 4 out of those teams. But if it’s just about picking the best 4 teams, then ND shouldn’t be there.
Seriously, if I had to pick a team out of the top 10 to play for the championship, Florida would be first followed by ND. And friggin UCF is in the top 10 haha
Austin Peay, MTSU, UMass, GT. As mediocre as we are, we are the best of the Gagger ooc schedule. UGAg lost to the two best teams they have played. Herbstreit needs to come up off that SEC dick.Kirby mentioned his team being good in all facets of the game. Referenced his top 15 defense and top 15 offense.
Guess he forgot to talk about the whole coaching decisions aspect.
I was saying Florida and ND would be my picks for easiest wins.Florida? Damn, you drunk
Ohhhhhh...got itI was saying Florida and ND would be my picks for easiest wins.
