Official Transfer in Thread

Even if we just have him do kick returns, take handoffs or reverses, and send him deep on pass plays that’ll be an improvement.
He didn’t return kicks at Bama but looks like he was on some of their cover/return teams. Has a blocked punt to his name. We could certainly use more ST fire power.

I like that we have 3 transfer receivers now. Welcome to GT!
Posted a school-record 10.5 in the 100-meter dash as a junior.
Leary should have two more years..He played some at RB as a frosh.
no transfer rating yet but was a 4 star composite.
He was a Rivals Top 100 recruit nationally out of high school and is also Top 100 in their transfer rankings.

TBH, not me. I want our OL homegrown and developed in our system playing alongside the guys they’ll share the field with for multiple years.
You can have both. Corey Robinson and Pierce Are transfers that could potentially start for 3-4 years.

You're not wrong, but didn't we take 5 on signing day?

Honest question, how many is ideal per year for the OL?

Our numbers and attrition there have been so bad for so long that it's the more the merrier. Hopefully, we can get to where we only have to take 3 or 4.

Feels like he wants to take 5-6 a year. We didn’t lose much up front this year and he still took a lot. We’ll probably have 20 or so on scholarship.

It takes 7-8 OL per year to get through a season. Of those, one will have a career ending event and one a transfer, leaving 5-6. If it takes 3 years to get them where we want them to be, then you need about that many per year. About 5-6. That's 16-20 in a 4-year cycle. Another way to look at it is there are 5 OL in a first team of 22, not counting kickers who are often walk-ons, or about 23%. 23% of 85 is about 20.

UGA TE Brett Seither, heavily recruited by Tech in 2019 out of Central Catholic HS in Clearwater, has entered the transfer portal today:

Given his earlier interest in Tech and Faulkner coaching TEs, perhaps there is some mutual interest.

Not much in the way of statistics while in Athens, but of course they had the strongest corps of TEs in the country this past season, so easy for him to have gotten lost in the shuffle :dunno: .

Seems like ugag swooped in and got him late that year for depth. Dunno if he's worth a look this time around or not.
