Official Transfer in Thread

UGA TE Brett Seither, heavily recruited by Tech in 2019 out of Central Catholic HS in Clearwater, has entered the transfer portal today:

Given his earlier interest in Tech and Faulkner coaching TEs, perhaps there is some mutual interest.

Not much in the way of statistics while in Athens, but of course they had the strongest corps of TEs in the country this past season, so easy for him to have gotten lost in the shuffle :dunno: .

Heavily recruited by CPJ or Collins? If CPJ, he was recruited as an OL or WR. If Collins, possibly a TE.

Listen its not a huge bar to climb to become the top TE over here let's be real. If you can come in manage to be decent blocker and catch 3-5 balls a game for 30-40 yards on average and be a red zone threat then he's a upgrade. Thats crap #s for TE at UGA right now but thats quality at most other schools

Our current crop of TE’s are terrible so I’ll take him in a heartbeat.
I am giving our TE's a pass for this past season. I think with proper coaching, they will get better. It appears we will have a better offensive staff this season

For the love of God don't give them a pass....they'll drop it like they did in the UGA game. I'm still convinced if our TE made that catch the game could've been different. The drop seemed to turn the momentum of the entire game.

I still am upset we dropped the pass against Miami the year the bubble screened and bounced one off a helmet for the win. All we needed was that simple catch on our prior possession and we are taking a knee to end the game.

After almost 4 years of Geoff recruiting, somehow our TE room is no stronger than it was under CPJ. Key has a lot of work to do here, but the first step is just getting our best 5 skill players on the field regardless of position. I think he will do that.

I got so sick of hearing Geoff say we were a player-based and not a scheme-based program as he kept ramming Napoleon Dynamite onto the field at TE.

The UGAg model will be what will be the new hotness going forward across CFB. Two TE's. Power football. Kind of old-school. Just beat teams into submission. Collins, despite us having TE's, didn't run the team like we had TE's.

The natural sine wave. Defenses are now small and quick to counter spread offenses. Look for more 22 personnel, especially from factories.

Looking for a few of our current TEs to move along to make room.

I too am miffed that after 4 years we hadn't really upgraded the TE position. The consistency to catch balls and drop them in clutch situations, and uncovered many times was maddening. I too agree that had we gone up two scores against UGAY that would have really set the tone for the remainder of the game offensively. Not saying we would have won but it definitely would have helped.

And would have given us the opportunity to have layed more TD's on them offensively than any other team.
