Other Schools' Coaching Changes [Now with Colorado's Deion]

Things D-onion will discover in Boulder:
1. Snow
2. Cold
3. Wind, snow, cold
4. Range fires
5. Bicyclists
6. Subaru
7. No 5th downs (5th down mulligan already used circa 1990).
8. Elevation (should be #1).
9. Hemp.
10. Any combination of the above.

please add as you see fit.

Colorado got him which means Tech could have. He would almost certainly have chosen Tech over CO all else being equal. Has an even bigger rebuilding job there to do than he would have here. (Helluva lot bigger than “the biggest transition in the history of football” Lolol)

I hope you Key lovers don’t get too jealous of the hype and excitement he will bring to the buffs that Key can’t begin to approach.

This thread will age quite entertainingly over the next couple of years. Damn buffs are gonna stick it to us again.
Right now the report on his salary there is $5M +incentives. Do you think we could of matched that?

Yes and we should have. He would have brought so much attention and money to GT. But we were too scared to win.

All y’all talking about him being a hypocrite should look around college football. Nobody is loyal.
So after firing a coach for $11M, you think it would of been likely we could afford to pay the next head coach alone nearly what we were paying the previous staff combined? Where was this money going to come from?

Colorado making the playoffs in 2/3 years?

Anything is possible. USC and UCLA will be gone. There is still Oregon, Utah, Washington. He may be able to lift Colorado to Cal, Stanford, the Arizona teams, Wash St level, time will tell.

That’s just not true. There’s been a number of articles written about Key being the right hire and best man for the job. Not to mention praise from other coaches.

Find me one national news organization (non-AJC) that effuses praise about our hire. You’ll find many today praising Colorado. Colorado swung for the fences and struck gold. No one is saying that about Tech. Tech has no desire to become relevant again in football.

Yes we could have easily just from the additional ticket sales. We don't sell approximately 15k tickets per game except for the Clemson's and UGA's of the season. At $50 per ticket (on the low end). We would be looking at an additional $750k per game. That doesn't take in to account the seat licence fees, concessions, gear, etc. The additional revenue Deion would have brought just from standing on the sidelines would have paid for his salary.

Would that transition past year one or two? That is the $5million question.

Ok we got key.. but for fans to go so far as to say he is preferred OVER Deion being here.. is beyond delusion .. it’s borderline mental disorder area

The disconnect between some of y’all and 2022 CFB (reality) is incredible

That means nothing. Y’all are drooling over a one year coach with a lot of bling. We’ve been there and done that b

You’re part of the Tech problem. No aspirations for anything other than mediocrity. Key couldn’t develop a serviceable Oline but now he is suddenly the best possible coach for Tech. Beat some patsies in a very weak Coastal division. Hurrah. Do you honestly think that Key will have us in contention with UGA, Clemson, and Ole Miss? The answer is obviously no because Tech doesn’t strive to be competitive with those teams.
