Per ESPN Richt has been fired

Golden really wasn't winning at Miami. He had 2 seasons where he won more than 6 games. 2. He may not have gone 3-9 but he certainly had down years. Yeah I dont even know why you were talking about gailey either.

Conversations on StingTalk tend to get weird when the subject turns to the true definition of success.

Reports out of Houston say that Herman accepted already, before Richt "resigned".
Friend of mine from Ohio State says he is the next Urban Meyer. Smart, great offensive mind, GREAT recruiter, and a trophy wife to top it off. Damnit

That rumor was started/spread on Twitter by a bogus account.

I just read some tweets from that UGAInsiders feed. That dude was totally caught off guard with the firing. He acted like every one else on the interest - wait....they fired him!?!?.

Then, in the span of 10 hours, the dude becomes the authority about the next head coach hiring.

Ya...right.

Hopefully it's wrong.
He's been projected to Texas after next year, so maybe he'll wait for that.

Twitter is sadly full of idiots like that just trying desperately to guess right and use it to get a reputation as an insider. And trolls, making öööö up to get people talking about them.

In the firings of "successful but successful enough," I guess Tuberville and Fulmer would be in that category. Plus when Nebraska fired the guy after Osborne. Not to mention Pelini, but I think that was more of "you're too much of a dick" firing.

You've got a national championship there with Cam Newton but otherwise a lot of bad seasons. Some mediocre to poor coaches were fired and led to success, like Shula before Saban. Only three hires have looked like sure things when they happened: Saban, Harbough and Meyer. Only proven success at P5 level makes somebody a sure thing, i.e. With LSU, Stanford and Florida respectively. All other hires have some element of uncertainty, either with a successful mid-major coach like Bill Lewis or coordinator like Muschamp.

They are going to hire Kirby and I am ramping up my hate for him already in anticipation of this seemingly inevitable occurance. What kind of name is that for a grown man, anyway? Come to think of it, there's resemblance there. Yes, Uga's next coach is an amorphous blob.

The amusing thing is all of the Georgia fans talking with authority about some hire being announced today. Doesn't the job have to be posted and applications accepted per state law? I seem to recall that from our own vacancies.

yall made fun of this. its funny because its true

Heard a rumor today. Take it for what it's worth, as I have a hard time believing it. Friend of a relative, supposed "insider", friends with someone at ESPN. Apparently the story is that Richt is going to resign on Monday, Kirby Smart is already locked in to replace him, and Eason is signed up to stick with UGA. Again, take it for what it's worth, but this person seemed pretty darn convinced.
