For those that don't like the new uniforms, I think it would be best to reserve judgment until at least a better photo appears or until the players wear them out on the field. The contrast and color balance of these cell phone shots are all out of whack. I think the gold striping and piping on the blue should look better than it does in that photo because the blue should be much brighter and the gold should be slightly darker than what you see here. The blue is black in this shot. You still might not like it, but it won't be as bad. Personally, I'm fine with it, though I'd keep the navy jersey as an alternate and ask for opposing permission to play with the white as the home jersey most of the time because I still prefer it over the navy.
I agree with GoldenTornado in that Tech pulls off the modern look better than other schools because our school has colors that complement each other well. It's still clean for a non-traditional looking jersey, largely because we kept traditional block typefaces instead of the typeface used for the 2001-03 jerseys. The reason why Miami and Oregon jerseys don't look good are the typeface and color. VT jerseys don't look good because of the color and that occasional alternate sleeve abomination. Clemson, apart from having really loud colors, has that ugly drop shadow beneath the numerals. WVU uses an unpleasant typeface and yellow bleeds and contrasts too much with navy.
Back to our new uniforms, I definitely like the white helmet. Also, good call on not allowing the gold helmet and gold jersey combination.
