So is ND going to officially join now?

Notre Dame vs ACC opponents since "joining" in 2014:

5-0
5-1
4-1
2-3
5-1
2-2

Total - 23-8

What other ACC schools have a conference winning percentage that high?

Great memories just not happening this year.
Worse home opener loss in ND history, at least at the time. I was very very impressed with how classy the ND fans were after the loss. All stayed to the end, sang with the players, and were faultlessly courteous to us afterwards.

Anybody else remember how crazy hot it was?

Um......Clemson? The same Clemson that thrashed ND 30-3 in the playoffs without even getting out of 2nd gear the whole game? You keep trying to revert back to 10 years and now 6 years. Here is the deal with ND even with all the ridiculous favoritism they receive from the media and NCAA etc. they haven't won a NC since 1988. 32 football seasons ago. In 2020 it simply isn't a big deal to play or beat ND anymore. Its over. This isn't 1975 College Football anymore. Things change.

So 1 team. 1 team in the ACC is better than they have been the past few years. Your argument is that they are not relevant because 1 team is better than them.

Do you understand how ridiculous you sound?

it has already been explained why ND isn’t relevant. They haven’t won a damn thing in 32 years. In fact, when they have been placed in major bowl games in recent times they have been absolutely obliterated and keep getting chances. It is bordering on the absurd at this point. Notre Dame at this point is like Mickey Mantle stumbling around in the outfield in 1968. It’s almost pitiful at this point.

Who is the one team everyone wants to play? I know Gagger fans that talked of nothing else once ND was announced. They were giddy for years.

So about the same as the coastal champ or runner up.

Notre Dame is 33-6 in the past 3 years with their worst poll finish being #12. What Coastal team has had a similar run?

I’m just pointing out that their record is about the same as the coastal champ. Over those seasons, I think they are 1-2 against the coastal champ. So they have performed about at the same level as the coastal champ. Since 2014, only one coastal champ could be considered relevant, and that team didn’t even make the playoffs.

VT had a similar run in the coastal, but never got poll numbers like that.

Wut?

Since 2012:

62 - 43 since 2012 with 2 top 25 finishes, hasn't been ranked in top 10 since 2011

76 - 27 since 2012 6 top 25 finishes, been ranked in top 10 6 years.

Guess which is ND and which is VPISU

I said VT had a similar run, not that they had a similar run since 2012.

ND in the ACC would have won the coastal 2 or 3 times. If they played our schedule probably 2 and they wouldn’t have broken the top 10 more than once.

They are good enough to get maybe 1 Clemson loss, 1 Uga loss, and one good Coastal loss. Even if they get 0 nonClemson losses, they wouldn’t be considered any more relevant than the second best team in the ACC.

As it is now, they can have 1 loss and still make the playoffs. Clemson can maybe do that, it depends on how the PAC and Big 12 perform.

I say again, "Wut?"

Yeah. Notre Dame couldn't handle that gauntlet GT schedule.

I said ND would end most of those seasons with 2-3 losses. That isn’t nationally relevant. How many top 10 teams (finish ranking) has ND beaten over the last 10 years? How many times has ND beaten an ACC divisional champ? I can only think of 1 (uva). Maybe they got 2. Have they beaten a Big10 or pac12 divisional champ?

So ND beat pitt and uva. Lost to VT and Miami.

So 2-2 against the coastal champs over the last 4 years.

Edit: ND is just about even with the cream of the ACC coastal. National relevance is in the eye of the beholder.
