That unknown Ginger is wayyyyy better than the QBs that ND and BC are trotting out there, and UVA has better WRs than those 2 schools also

It's a fair question for critics like myself. If I had a magic wand:
- 25% pay reduction for Collins ... every penny put into the assistant coaching salary pool.
- Thacker dismissed
- Burton dismissed
- Popovich dismissed
- Whoever is QC on defense dismissed
- New DC: Dan Lanning, DC, UGA. He has no allegiance to UGAg beyond a paycheck. He's their best recruiter, too. It would cost $2.25m or more to get Lanning ($1.7m at UGAg right now). Lanning can choose his own adventure for the new secondary and QC coaches.
- Choice 25% pay increase
- Knight 10% pay increase
- Coleman 10% pay increase
 
The bottom line is Collins was given the time to become a successful head coach. If he truly believes we are moving in the right direction then he doesn’t need to pay any attention to anything else. He will probably have a total of 5 years to get it done. It’s on him and has been from day one. From the moment he ran that triple option formation in that spring game to now, he is responsible for every decision. What fans think means nothing at this point and shouldn’t even be on his radar. I want him to succeed so I don’t want him wasting time on stupid stuff. He is about to face a QB with the exact same skill set as Pickett. He needs to be coaching and not doing press. At the end of h tenure whether it’s next week, next year, or in 20 years I want him to have no regrets. As the saying goes, you do you and if he is right and we are getting better then we will all see it.

That must be a really magic wand if you're going to get the DC for the best defense in the nation, which plays in front of 90k every Saturday and has a real shot to win a national title, to move to a defense that is one of the worst in the nation, which plays in front of 25k every Saturday and has no real shot to even win the division. Even if your plan is to pay him the same or more as our head coach (which itself seems like it would present problems...)

But yeah, I agree that if we can get the coordinator for the best defense in the nation to come be DC for us, we should. I don't think you'll find too many he would disagree with that.

Lanning would have to agree to be taken out to the Grant Field to be hosed down and given a proper bath before he can start.
 
I can’t wait for the irrational exuberance when we take down BC. Skinny Jeans is gonna wet his britches if not drop a #2 in the back he’ll be so excited.

We should beat BC like a rug, but I’m fearful it will be a close game. BC sucks almost as bad as Dook and we made that game close.

It's pretty simple math to me. Would you pay $1.5m for a great DC and recruiter, the going market rate right now? OK, if you're still with me... would you now also spend another $1.5m to remove UGA's DC and best recruiter? If the GTAA and its biggest boosters are as good at math as GT people should be, those should be easy YES questions right now. It is a downgraded job ... except for another million bucks or so and living in a place where you can actually enjoy that kind of income. There's only so many acres of hot humid mid-GA forest a guy needs.

No chance on Lanning and you wouldn’t want to get into a bidding war with UGA.

BC is not as bad as you think they are. They are undefeated when Jurkovic starts. All of their loses he was unavailable due to injury. Guess who returned from injury to beat VT handily last week? Also Hafley is probably one of the top 4 coaches in the conference. If Tom Hammock can run circles around this staff with a bad MAC team what makes you think Hafley can't do it?

Jerkovic has a rag arm and all BC can do is run the ball. They’re 1 dimensional. If Thacker can’t figure out this gimme he needs to go the next day. BC’s D is flaccid. Get the ball to Gibbs, hammer Mason and Smith, let Sims be Sims- runner passer in that order. öööö even I could do better than the 3 stooges or does Key make it 4 stooges? Either way, pull a random fan out of the stands and he’ll make better calls.

Like last year, I feel like we SHOULD beat BC, but I’m having trouble convincing myself that we WILL beat BC. I wouldn’t be terribly surprised with any outcome other than a solid beat down administered by us, which seems like the least likely outcome.

Lanning ain't leaving DC at UGA for a parallel move to GT DC.

GT might be a great place for Engineering, but it ain't a great place for Coaching CFB

Lanning is leaving uga for a mid pay P5 Job - a job that pays $5 to 6 million per yr.

Our Coordinators make $500K per year max, even if CGC takes a 25% haircut, that cut in his pay plus $500K doesn't get you anywhere close to $2.25million for a DC job in a very undesirable place FOR COACHES

Y'all idiots have to understand the Coaching Profession is very mercenary like and others don't have the love for GT that we do, to them it is all about Money, can I get players, does the school care about winning, etc

Y'all act like non GT people have a source of built in passion for GT FB.

Dan Lanning will end up at Indiana or a Big12 school before he would ever come to GT, why?

Purdue is paying their HC Abt $6million per yr, so if the IU job opens up they'll want to be in the ballpark of their Conference Rival.
