Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a financial aspect to this early decision. Save the cost of travel. Save a week of unbudgeted extra time to feed and house the players and pay seasonal support staff.

öööö 2020.
I see the point but I dont buy it...none of that is the Collins way.

Does that include the people that couldn't get their cancer treatments or heart oblations (I know people personally this happened to) or the suicides because of economic difficulty or other secondary effects?
Probably not....the number could be higher...

Why couldn't we play Saturday night?

There are graduations Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, and Saturday afternoon (ending at 4p). I guess turning the stadium over from graduation to football on Saturday night was too much of a hassle, from the perspective of TV setup, cleaning, getting the field ready, etc.

Every dollar spent on a virtually meaningless game is a dollar not available to recruit.

Unless Collins wanted to write a check or take a commensurate cut to cover it, he has a boss too.

No but it does include people who died of a heart attack, cancer, diabetes, or old age AND had the 'Rona at the same time too.

The # of senior citizens who died in 2020 was almost identical to 2019. How the F is that even possible unless the Rona is just being used for every cause of death.

A pandemic that is being survived by 99.9% of the people in it isn't a pandemic, you coward. Stop being such a goddamned fraidy cat.
Only because of the extreme measures we have taken to slow/curb the spread. The survival rate for those who get it it less than 98%.

What was your point? Did you have one?

If we were already bare bones because of Covid, and we lose some other guys due to injury, then it could make sense to cancel. Sims may have been the last Jenga piece.

We've played our fair share of games undermanned. More than other teams.

From a football standpoint I'm glad for this cancellation, Miami was going to kick our ass almost as bad as Clemson.
Are you watching today's game? Miami was set up for an asskicking. Like the one they're getting today.
