Some fans don’t want to see progress — Geoff Collins

I'm a fan, and after almost three years of Coach Collins, it doesn't upset me much anymore when we lose. That's probably a good thing in a lot of ways, but I think it's sort of the opposite of the effect a coach would want to have on a fan base.

I am actually starting to think PressManCoverage has some sort of relationship with CGC. I've never seen one poster trash players so much before. And not even criticizing individual players, but just in general constantly blaming players as a group in order to defend the coach.

EDIT: And not to say that players as a group are above criticism, but it's weird to see it presented as so completely one sided so frequently.
Wrecksie & Princess are on CGC’s payroll.

I got a one-week ban for being happy when PJ got fired, which was fall of 2018 so you're not correct.

Like I said, I don't have a problem with calling for a coach to be fired but to pretend that open-season on PJ was allowed is disingenuous.
you probably got banned for cussing someone out in the football forum not for calling for CPJ’s head.

Not sure if serious. BC has a better than average team. Better than us, that's for sure.
I would tend to agree. Makes me wonder why the opening line had us as favorites. Vegas isn’t stupid also. It’s curious.

Yes, I’m dead serious. BC has the 101st rated offense out of 130 teams. Just what our beleaguered defense needs. Their defense is rated 60th, one notch above Wake. We should score on them, we should force their 1 dimension offense into enough punts to allow us to win. Our match ups are favorable, we have weapons they do not have. Gibbs will get his scores, Sims will add 1 or 2, a TD pass or two maybe, plus a grind out TD by Mason or Smith. I see a 5+ TD day. BC will score 31 pts max on our swiss cheese defense, but more likely 21-24 pts. We could hold them under 21 easily, but not sure Thacker has that level of competence. Overall likely a 14-17 pt GT win, could be 21+. Not real likely to be closer than 10 pts. The reason the line is so close, well that has to due to lack of confidence in GT, specifically the 3 stooges. There’s question marks about whether or not CGC has “lost the team”. I happen to think he has not “lost the team”, they may not be happy campers because they bought into a system they’ve found to be severely deficient, but there‘s a lot of difference between that & mailing it in. For that reason, I think not only do we win but we romp. Skinny Jeans is so freaking excited he’s lost his voice by the end of the game. We’ll hear about this game for the next 10 months. It’s all we got.

What’s the record number of likes on a post

It's WrecksNEffect, who is a long time Tech troll and UGA fan.

That should explain things clearly to you. Just look at his visceral reaction earlier in this thread talking about getting Dan Lanning to jump ship to Tech for even more evidence.
The visceral effect to the Dan Lanning comment was because it showed a comical level of delusion and a bad understanding of CFB in 2021.

The mindless paranoia of everyone that gives honest analysis about CFB must be a mutt Fan shows where your feeble mind is, you have no idea how petty & silly you sound

I think that is exactly what is happening. I would say that it is statistically impossible for entire groups of position players to get worse as they get older and play more. Without any coaching most would get better just by getting more experience.

One or two might regress but when the entire position group gets worse it seems odd. The coaches are the only common denominators. Good coaches would fix it, tell them what they are doing wrong. Help them improve. Players with good coaches don't make the same mistakes over and over 9 games into a season.
You really act like our players are the dumbest, slowest, least talented players to ever play football. They wouldn't make my local high school team if they were as bad as you make them out to be.

The only reason that I theorize those thoughts above, is that even though I only played at the HS Level, none of our Coaches were bad at their jobs, some were better than others, but none taught us the wrong techniques, so I simply assumed that by the time any Coach gets to this level, at these pay scales, there would have to be a certain level of competence.

those were simply my assumptions, and having gone to GT , I have seen up close how some guys age 18 to 23 act when they are given their first taste of independence where they also have no financial responsibilities, some can't handle it and just don't have the discipline to do what is necessary to also play at a high Level on Saturdays.

I just find it hard to believe that our highly paid coaches are teaching our players the wrong fundamentals and the wrong techniques.

Recruiting Buzz, our current recruiting class, and probably Sims, Gibbs, Ivey, Biggers.....probably leave if you get your firing wish right now.

Of course, your 2* triple option 6' 275 lb OL and DL are always available for Bohannon or Monken when you morons excitedly make us Kennesaw State
So you are saying if we hire a Coach say like Nick Rolovich than all of our recruits will leave.... That is interesting because when Gus Malzahn was let go at Auburn, a lot of their big time players (Tank Bigsby for example) did not leave.... I find it interesting that some would rather lose year in and year out because some of the players might leave instead of making coaching changes that could get the team back to Bowl eligibility on the annual.

Can you explain to me who would want this job if we fire him now? Derek Dooley, maybe?
Nick Rolovich, Todd Hailey, Ted Roof, Jeff Monken, Ken N., Brian Bohann, Chad Lunsford, Andy McCollum, Kendal Briles, Jimmy Lake, Steve Addazio, Butch Davis, Dirk Koetter ...

In terms of BC offense ranking, didn't they just get their QB back from injury? I think they had him last week too and only scored like 14 but may still make any statistical view of their offense difficult.

Perhaps because they had a relationship with coach Manila. Coach ênvelopę Manila.

I guarantee that if we lose, Collins will bring that up as "something we couldn't plan for".
