Gibbs gone

Oh, 1,000 percent. I think the only chance we had keeping Gibbs was probably making a bowl this year and looking like a team that could go out and win 9 or 10 games next year. Maybe not even then if a big time program got in his ear, but that would have been our only chance.

Thing to remember about Gibbs was he was a humble 3-star recruit who absolutely blew up in a short amount of time. He actually talked about how he was uncomfortable with that situation during his recruitment and found it stressful. I think GT was the safe, comfortable option and he stuck with us. I think he recognizes how great he is now and how much better things could be for him winning huge games in packed stadiums and being in the conversation for awards.
We will see. He still never possessed the game speed and power of Dwyer

There will end up being 15-20 megateams and nobody else will be able to compete.

Been that way for a while now.

How many different Nat’l Champs in the last 15 years? How many different teams in the playoffs? Not many.

portal is just a way for players to audition and have more options if they wish.

It doesn’t. The bet was about the 2020 class draftees vs Johnson’s last few. Doesn’t matter where they get drafted from.
K. I agree with that mindset. I still think UFA’s on practice squads or better should count….

It was a true pleasure watching young Mr. Gibbs play for the Yellow Jackets these past two seasons! He was one of the bright spots during some rough seasons. Not only is Jahmyr Gibbs extremely talented but he plays with a great deal of heart! You don't see that combination very often. May the Good Lord bless young Mr. Gibbs in his future endeavors. Despite him transferring from Tech, no one can erase his time on the Flats. The great players you never forget!

GO JACKETS!

GAME ON

Take the 12 million raised for G**** C****** buyout and make a NIL deal for the cesspools OL...

Let's break this whole system, or at least accelerate the process.

Now that's thinking. We can't afford a Nick Saban;; but maybe we can afford some key OL starters from elsewhere for the cost of a NIL t-shirt deal. How many t-shirts do we have to buy for ourselves to entice the UGA DL to come?

Everyone who said we should keep CGC because he's an amazing recruiter can eat a giant bag of öööö-covered crow. Fire this clown and TStan now before we're relegated to the FCS.
...but CGC did recruit him. Him wanting to stay has nothing to do with that. If I had to take a guess he sees what we see where the offense can't score a touchdown in three entire games with Sims out. I wouldn't want to roll the dice on another year of that either.

And we're never getting relegated to FCS if teams like Duke, Vandy, and Wake Forest aren't.

You can play with pain, you cannot play injured!

You and others are wrong for taking cheap shots at a guy that has played hard from Day1 at GT.

Show some class, wish the Kid good fortune, wish for him to avoid injuries and and a great NFL Career

That's the class thing to do.........

Act classy, other Recruits, Parents, and HS Coaches are watching.....
Agreed. I fully support this kid leaving. What better way to be a man than make grown man decisions

i hope he throttles anyone in his path

great kid

I don't think this changes anything regarding Collins being retained unless a tsunami of departures follows, which I don't really expect. At the end of the day, these are all individual decisions for individual reasons. There aren't really other guys on our team who are Heisman trophy-caliber and can just name their destination.

It does make it harder for Collins to secure the 6 wins he probably needs to keep his job next year.

not harder, in my opinion. Impossible.

I am not familiar with this, but I hope our players are not doing cryptic twitter öööö. It takes a lot of balls to play on a 3-9 team and do cryptic öööö.
