Texas A&M too SEC ?

0% chance that UNC splits from Duke. Carolina just showed how much they care about football compared to basketball by firing Butch to protect Roy.

Not to mention that Carolina has Swofford in their pocket, more or less. No reason to give up a conference you have so much pull in politically to go to the SEC.

So what you're trying to say is. We have no room to talk about UNC's massive agent and coverup scandal involving all the HMFICs, through which they gained recruiting advantages, which resulted in the implosion of their football program at the hands of their own BoR, because we got dicked by the NCAA for a single $312 gift which can't even be proven to have come from an agent, most of which was given back anyways.

That's what you're honestly trying to say? We had one player that acted out of line, and that equates us to an entirely corrupt football program?

Do you realize how stupid you sound, if that is indeed what you're trying to say?

So, getting back on track, it seems like A&M and FSU are a package deal. A&M gets the Texas TV market, which is all the SEC cares about. But if the SEC wants balance and 14 teams, FSU is the best of a bunch of bad options in the east. GT, FSU, Clemson and Louisville all add nothing TV-wise. VPI would get the DC market, but they're very happy in the ACC. FSU is the least bad because they would at least get even more nationally televised games for the SEC.

But if FSU leaves the ACC, then the ACC can no longer have its championship game with 11 teams. I guess Pitt would be first in line for the ACC? WVU would be far below the ACC academically. Either the ACC gets Pitt or another school or the Big 10 could then raid the conference by offering more TV dollars to ACC schools than an 11-team ACC could provide.

TAMU/FSU isn't the interesting part of this whole thing. It will be most interesting to see what other dominoes fall because of that.

My guess is it will happen-most schools in Texas are disgusted with UT starting the Longhorn network.A&M gets revenge but jumping to the SEC!

The Big 10 can already offer more money than a 12-team ACC conference.

For new/improved TV markets, I would think Miami would be a better fit than FSU. Between Auburn and UF, the SEC has the panhandle covered.

Just heard breaking news on ESPN radio. An official with A&M said the announcement to join the SEC is on Monday. FSU, Clemson, and Mizzou are joining as well.

one wonders how much espn might be trying to manipulate the conference swapping/creating/destruction to pad their bottom line.

Omg. Our big conference game is going to be Duke.

Football gods, do not forsake us...

Espn reporting.....

The question is how credible is this, or is this simply more rumors? I seem to recall last year that it was supposedly a 'done deal' for Texas, TAMU, OU and OSU to be heading to the Pac-10, and we know how that turned out.

(However, if true, then that would SUCK for Tech. :furious:)

Shit just got real. Like others have said, ESPN running banners saying Texas A&M to SEC. FSU, Clemson, and Mizzou are likely to join as well.
